PDS member Restriction

Dear All,

Can We enforce restriction to 1 Member of PDS ?

What kind of restriction are you talking about here? Did you mean "Password Protected Member", by any chance?

No. Why would you want to do such a foolish thing?? The only valid reason I can think of is a member search is very I/O inefficient; the search for one member is less inefficient than the search for the member with the highest collating sequence in a directory with say, 1000 members.

There are two ways to limit the number of members in a PDS.
  • Limit the number of PDS directory blocks.
  • Limit the space allocation.
These controls can be placed in dynamic allocation exits or possibly in SMS controls.

Unfortunately, the OP is too badly written to allow us to distinguish between Anuj's and Steve's inerpretations. jaggz, think about what you're trying to ask and rephrase your question.
