Logrec Data set

Postby Gringo » Fri Jan 18, 2008 8:45 pm

Hi All,

I’m looking for a way to decode OBR and MDR records, from a logrec data set.
I’ve found an accurate description of the record headers in the “MVS Diagnosis: Reference” book, but nothing about the device specific information field (e.g.: DEVDP, SDRINF, … and other fields)
Where can I find an accurate description of those fields? Of course, I have to decode the logrec offline, with no possibility to get hands on the source system (…)
TIA for your help.

i believe what you are looking for is the EREP record layouts and descriptions which can be found in the EREP V3R5 Reference (GC35-0152-03). you may also find it useful to get access to the SMP/E maclibs which often contain macros useful for mapping system-level records (comments in these macros can be extremely useful and educational).
