Mainframe BackUps?

Hello,

Why we need to have Weekly , Monthly and Yearly DB2 or MVS backs ups when we have Daily Back Ups?

What are the scope and retention periods of the different backups?

there is no objective need to take any backup :mrgreen:
the backup frequency is dictated by <Your> organization practices and standards, any <because> could be wrong !

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

What happens if you delete a data set by accident, but notice it several days or maybe weeks later. Where are you going to recover it from?
