TSO automatic logoff

Postby poojithas » Sat Jul 13, 2013 4:00 pm

Hi,
In my current system, whenever TSO user is disconnected due to his side network issue, he is waiting for 30 to 40 minutes to again login as his tso job is still running. Is there any parameter I can set to say 10 minutes to tso auto logoff facility.

You might look at the SMF JWT parameter, though it might already be set at 30 minutes from what you have posted. For what it's worth, in my opinion 10 minutes is too short.

Hello,

Yup - Agreed.

10 minutes can go by quite quickly ;)

You might work with your network or system support people to see if there is a way in your environment to reconnect to the session that has been "hung out to dry" or cause it to terminate without having to call an operator to cancel your session.

Some of the sites I've supported do this and others do not.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Hello,

What does Logon Userid RE says ? Before Changing JWT did you check other Dependencies ? If you are having disturbances with network then The INACTIVE timer in your telnetparms will handle this too.(Just touching the tso majornodes).

I hope you are playing around with Test systems.
