Thai alphabet display

Postby ganesh_83 » Tue Sep 08, 2015 8:49 pm

hi all

we are now facing an issue with Thai character display when transferred from mainframe to pc.
in Thai character set there are few character which is overlay-ed on top another. they take up 2 storage bytes but they are displayed in the same position.

when we output this characters in report and is transferred from mainframe to PC, the alignment of fields following the fields containing thai character shifts to the left.

example in mainframe we store as below
แ ื ิี 123

this takes up two bytes
but this is displayed as
แื 123

the 123 has shifted by one space in this case.

we are storing as IBM 1160 and transferring as UTF-8

is there any transfer mode that can retain the spacing or any method can achieve this?
i have tried to search for solution a number of times unable to find.

i really appreciate any help or guidance on this.
