Hello,

As there have been no answers, suggest you provide more information about your question. The most likely reason there have been no replies is because no one is sure of the question.

What do these terms mean to you? Where did you hear of them?

Looking at Google these two items are not connected. Composite libraries are something to do with Windows development, and, therefore, are not to do with mainframes, while distributed libraries are something to do with books. I only looked at the first Google reslts for each term so there may be other more related stuff. But Google is probably your friend here (and in many other cases).

Composite and Distributed libraries are terms used with a VTS (Virtual Tape Server) Grid. Some sites may have more than one VTS installed at different datacenters (say one for production workload and another one at the DR site). In such a each of these VTS' would be referred to as a composite library. However, they would be managed as a single cluster (or a grid) and which would be called a COMPOSITE library.
