Connecting websphere and z/Linux via JCA and other tech

Hi,

I'm a student at a university germany and I'm currently writing my bachelor thesis which includes a market research on bidirectional JCA 1.5 resource adapters and alternative technologies for an administration in germany.

Has anyone experience in connecting websphere and z/Linux with Unikix TPE?

Here's a more detailed description of the systems involved:
The administration has an IBM websphere-Server 7 that needs to be connected to an IBM z/Linux with Unikix-TPE. First priority lies in finding a compatible bidirectional JCA 1.5 Resouce Adapter (according to JEE Specifications) that is compatible to CICS. Programs are written in Cobol and both sides, websphere and z/Linux, should be able to invoke programs/methods of the other server.
My task is to research RAs (also open source-products) and alternatives to the RA-Solution (e.g. Webservices, JMS, hybrid solutions, ...). Up until now only they only found Fujitsu BeanConnect that meets the requirements.
The first priority is to get all data from the IS to the websphere (and from there via webservices to client) so that the mainframe doesn't have to communicate directly with clients using webservices.
Furthermore, I'm researching alternative possibilities such as Webservices, Webservices and JCA, JMS, ESB, etc or a mix/hybrif of the technologies (e.g. into the mainframe via jca and out to the clients via webservices...

I have found only a few bidirectional RAs so far. So I'm happy for every suggestion ;)
The solution can also be open source or a mix.

btw: IBM referred them to BeanConnect :)

Thanks in advance.
