IBM z/Platform – Practice Development Manager - Leeds - £60,000 plus benefits

Our client is a well-regarded banking group who now seek to hire a specialist Team Manager, to manager IBM z/Platform resources.

Core Purpose of the Role:
Perform line management of a pool of resources whose day to day responsibilities are managed by either the Service Lead, Service Improvement Lead or the Delivery Lead.

Principle Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure that the team complete timely and accurately banking and Group IT management requirements, such as time reporting, vacation scheduling etc.
• Accountable for defining clear career paths for the z/Platform team.
• Coach and advise each individual on how to progress to the next career level.
• Ensure that top performers in the z/Platform team are recognised and planning is in place for their development.
• Develop a training curriculum for the team based upon skills gap and strategic direction of the z/Platform estate.
• Creation and Management of balanced scorecards as part of the annual performance review process.
• Colleague calibration and laddering.
• Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings with each individual resource.
• Accountable for performing the mid year and year end performance reviews.
• Ensure that all resources are following the job family framework.
• Accountable for identifying and driving improvement to Colleague Engagement scores.
• Ensure that 360 feedback is sought on leadership team, and the results of such are understood, communicated and acted upon.

Key Capabilities/ Knowledge that Candidates ought to have:

• Strong ability to coach and develop individuals.
• Strong multi-disciplinary delivery experience ideally operating in varied IT environments or companies.
• Highly motivated and strong ‘self starter’ capabilities, interpersonal skills and proven team management experience.
• Must be passionate about excellent customer service and be able to transmit this to others.
• Ability to run large virtual teams across multiple locations.
• An excellent appreciation and understanding of a wide breadth of z/Platform infrastructure and processes.
• Proven ability to understand and communicate with respect to the complex technical environment.

Revenue Budget:

• No Budget responsibility, however the PDM needs to ensure that Resource and Technology are effectively utilised.
