Mainframe - Capacity planning and performance career.

Hi All,
I have some knowledge of SAS+SMF and techniques to measure mainframe CPU,DASD and Tape, but very less or zero knowledge of DB2, IMS, CICS. Would a capacity planning and performance career require prior working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2? Would SMF, RMF, Strobe, Omegamon knowledge suffice for a capacity planning and performance career? I am planning to switch to a job which has capacity planning and performance for DB2, CICS, IMS. Need your guidance please. Thank you.

And could anyone point me to a document/source which will give information about performance tuning techniques using SMF/RMF for CICS,DB2,IMS.
