OK, you can always describe things a little more whenever you want to.

You can google for "what is a VSAM PATH". You can look in the VSAM manuals, searching for PATH and looking in the Index. If there is a glossary, that is worth a check as well.

Get a bit of information about it and arrange it so that you can most easily grasp it. Then explain back here what you think it is from your research, or what it is you still don't understand.

Also the thing to be aware of is the possibility of more than one answer. At the moment your question is very (very!) general. You might want to include in your search something about what you need specifically. The VSAM manuals are available on the web.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

When posting a question, you need to be as specific as possible. It is also helpful to post why you are asking the particular question. What caused you to have a doubt about "path"?

The better info you post, the more useful the replies can be.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

googling for vsam path returned 124000 links
( and the first page contained all the links needed to understand the <thingy> )
faster to do it Yourself rather than waiting for a forum reply
cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
