Can any one help me to understand the differences between IBM and Hitachi Mainframes? How difficult it is to work for a guy from IBM on Hitachi?

Are you lookikng for differences in the hardware? If yes, this forum will probably not be much help.

Which Operating System is used on the Hitachi? If it s a standard IBM O/S, there will be very little (if any) difference seen by developers.

If you want to know something else, please clarify.

Actually the requirement is to understand how difficult it is for a IBM mainframe programmer to work on Hitach mainframe.

one more question is the ISPF and other labels on hitachi mainframe are customised in Japanese so is there any option to view them in Engllish as in japanese keyboards.

As i mentioned before, if the same operating system is used, it should not be difficult.

As far as language customization, suggest you ask the tech rep for Hitachi. They should have all of this type of info.

I've worked on both IBM and Hitachi mainframes and the differences have been absolutely transparent.
