hey guys i'm into ITIS testing support and i keep coming across vaious environments in the mainframe server we use.... and every environment has so many streams..... so my question is what is a stream......


my colleagues reply: it is where the dropzone libraries reside....

is this correct or there any other simpler explanations....

I have not heard of the term "stream" in reference to a mainframe before, except for highly specialized cases such as FTP mode. It sounds like you are talking about address spaces or some other mainframe concept that is not referred to as "stream" by mainframe people. Can you identify just what a "stream" consists of?

How are these identified? How do you look at one?

As Robert mentioned, this is not a common mainframe term.

Might this be a "jobstream"?
