What is the difference between CICS and normal OS?
CICS does most of de works of OS..lik memory mgmt,task mgmnt,etc... but thr s one activity that CICS does not do wrt normal OS.. what s tat activity???

CICS does not support batch processing, tape processing, partitioned data set processing, and many other things that operating systems handle. If you are looking for one particular answer, go back to the person who posed the question and ask them what they are thinking of since there are many differences.

just to start with ...

You can have zOS without CICS
You cannot have CICS without zOS

as a general point, CICS is seen by the zOS as a user program
( sophisticated and all, but still a user program )

Also, You define CICS as an MVS subsystem before you can use any of facilities...
