Any COBOL Language Reference manual or tutorial should explain the criteria for naming things ike paragraphs, sections and variables. Suggest you look up the relevant section - it is what it is there for. Or just experiment - create a little program with these variations and see what the compiler says.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

I think it should be MOVE as it is a COBOL defined verb

Suggest you try this on your system. . . It is a very simple experiment.
