Can anyone please explain me about mirroring a dateset in mainframe.

Yes. Actually my query is what is mirroring a dateset. Is that creating a dataset with the copy of existing one or diferent meaning.

what does the issue have to do with COBOL ?

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
