a couple of questions about syncsort

Postby migusd » Thu Oct 30, 2014 1:59 am

Hi guys,

just curious about a couple of questions
Has anyone used MFX PipeSort or used DB2 Query support?
If so, would you mind sharing your experiences? Like performance, restart, rollback, etc?

Also, have anyone create a HTML/RTF/PDF report?
I am having what appears installation problems, and would like to know if there any way to override the defaults.
I am getting a WER523A -OUTFIL OUTPUT PARAMETER REQUIRES SYNCSORT INSTALLATION OPTIONS FOR JAVA

thanks for sharing :)

An obvious question, as you did not provide the information: do you actually have the Syncsort Java support installed and enabled?
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

I created output files in PDF two years ago using syncsort OUTPUT feature and it worked. The Syncsort manuals have all the details regarding this. I would suggest you to go through the manuals. You have to ensure that Syncmac options are defined correctly.

I'm sure SyncSORT will give you access to the manuals and make available any support you need right now, if you contact them.

Thanks Billy,
do you have a contact name from Syncsort?
I would be happy to contact them myself.

The one I would like to get my hands to is the MFX PipeSort User's Guide manual at this moment.

I tried to register once to their community, but I didn't like having to answer personal questions.
I realize they want to make sure you are not spammer, but why would they care about your birth date, or other personal questions?
That seems to much to me, so I quit the process.
