Hi,

How do we do a SYNTAX check of SORT statements used in a JCL? Generally, we know the error once the job fails because certain functionality may not be supported due to version one uses...........

Thanks.

There is no feature in SyncSort that will check the syntax before submitting the job. There may be a third party utility that can perform this function, but I would not rely upon it. I have seen issues arise in other forums when using JCL checkers with sort products.

The only other suggestion I can make is to first submit the job with no input (DD DUMMY) or code a STOPAFT=1.
