Difference btwn DFSORT and SYNCSORT

Could anyone explain me the diffn btwn DFSORT and SYNCSORT?????
And which one is more effecient??

Hello,

Syncsort is a product from Syncsort, Inc. DFSORT is a product from IBM.

Most systems do not run both, so you would use whichever product is installed on your system.

My prior job had both sort products.

Syncsort option for MAXSORT was key for keeping that product. Very large files can be sorted in user-sized chunks with a final merge. This is all automatic and restartable.

Best performance is tricky because configuration options can affect this.
