Hi all,

I need to find some critical DB/2 error messages in syslog,in an online Banking system.

In z/OS V1R8.0, Is there any way for reading current syslog by rexx?

Thanks in advance,
Mehrdad

If critical I suspect your DBA/technical support have access to them. Check with them first, you may no have to write anything yourself.

Critical messages on an on-line banking system that runs on a release of z/OS that has been out of support since September 2009. Please tell us which bank this is so that we can close our accounts!

Read Chapter 5, "Searching for a message in SYSLOG", in IBM Redbook "Implementing REXX Support in SDSF", SG24-7419-00.

In fact, please read all of the chapters.

IBM Redbook "Implementing REXX Support in SDSF",

I just noticed this in that book:
This edition applies to z/OS Release 1 Version 9 with APAR PK43448
