Package cannot demote when installation date expired
I created a package with installation date Aug 25, 2008. I full promoted it before Aug 25 and waiting for my supervisor to approve and install. But my supervisor missed the date and when he try to approve on July 10, he got error that the package installtion date expired. And when I try to demote and change the installation date I got a demote error. The reason is also installation date expired. Could you please tell me how to change the installation date when the package is already promoted and the installation date expired?

Re: Package cannot demote when installation date expired
Hi Davib,
Change the installation date by using "U7" in front of the PKG. And then you can approve the pkg if you still want to move the code to production ( i think the code will be demoted automatically when it is baselined if there is no customization). else you can demote the pkg aft changing the date.. if u want any more info pls feel free to PM me..

Re: Package cannot demote when installation date expired
Hi Davib,
There are a few ways for you to change the install date. 1) you can perform a selective unfreeze of the package in question by entering "F3" in front of the package then a "U" next to online category. Now if you still receive "INSTALL DATE ERROR" message you can then 2) go to "M" (Monitor) at the primary option panel click on "1" (Limbo), then enter the package number, then next to the package enter "CD" but do not press enter yet until you change the date. Then press enter.
And yes, when baselining a package the last place the package was will get cleaned up.
Hope this helps.

Re: Package cannot demote when installation date expired
All the options for differnt commands suggested so far would differ shop to shop. Bottom line is, one need to change the "installation date of the package". One thing which can be taken care of is . . . if the package is "frozen" one need to "un-freeze" it before they can change the installtion date.
