Data set no longer on disk, but is on a HSM backup

Postby Kevin Jenkins » Tue May 06, 2014 5:58 pm

Data set AAAAA.B.CCCCCCCC.DDDDDDDD.G6753V00 has rolled off from its base and is no longer on disk, but HSM has a backup copy...

- DFSMSHSM CONTROL DATASET - BACKUP DATASET-- LISTING

DSNAME = AAAAA.B.CCCCCCCC.DDDDDDDD.G6753V00            BACKUP FREQ = ***, M

BACKUP VERSION DATA SET NAME                 BACKUP FROM   BACKUP   BACKUP
                                             VOLUME VOLUME DATE     TIME

HSM1.BACK.T311700.AAAAA.B.A4060              W20363 POOLPU 14/03/01 00:17:20

From the HSM list bcds command above I can tell when AAAAA.B.CCCCCCCC.DDDDDDDD.G6753V00 was backed up. But is there a way to also find out the date/time when AAAAA.B.CCCCCCCC.DDDDDDDD.G6753V00 was created? I have consulted HSM storage admin and IDCAMS (DCOLLECT) documentation where I can see that the create date/time is present in the D and M records, but not in the B record.

I'm making no headway. Grateful if someone out there can help me to obtain the information, or confirm that it is not accessible.

Thanks & Regards, Kevin
