write the mainframe esp job status in a file

Postby Mainframe_user » Thu Aug 04, 2016 3:47 am

I have a list of esp jobs that run every day, I want the status of these jobs to be written in a file with jobname.
Could anyone please suggest me any idea to achieve this.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Read the manual and see what the vendor says.

why not do a bit of research Yourself.
if Your organisation is licensed for ESP use the manuals should be available in house
cheers

so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

I don't have any link for the manuals. If your site is licensed for the software, you have access to the manuals -- be it via site intranet, hardcopy, or through the vendor's web site.

My personal preference would be to:
1 - Have my Job Automation colleague set up a daily report. There might already something in place.
2 - Run a daily report from SMF data. This will require some SMF extractor software - talk to your system support about that. As this differs from site to site I cannot provide a sample.
