Thanks for your detailed explanation NicC.
I understood the process for tackling Libraries from your screens in case of one time activity.

Still I am afraid I did not get what I requested initially.
My request is for PS files where as you showed it how to achieve for Libraries.

Actually it was Enrico who provided the information you refer to (screen-shots etc). I just provided more info on the wildcard. But you did not provide info as to whether my info helped or not. And you did not specify if you were using the wildcard as I surmised (blah.blah.*09).

You should be afraid only of Your incapacity of expressing Yourself clearly

here is the first sentence of Your first post where You state
Can some one suggest what if I wish to delete only members starting with "E"?
Eg: MBOLT.MTEMPX.M7AWXX.DATA04(E*)
I mean to ask here, is it possible to specify Wildcard in IDCAMS or any other IBM utility.

and that clearly refers to pds/library members

Hello,

I added the bolding to what i believe is the "new" question that was appended to this existing topic.
[quote]Can some one suggest what if I wish to delete only members starting with "E"?

At the same time in case if there is solution to above, is it possible to apply the same to Flat files as well?
Eg: MBOLT.MTEMPX.M7AWXX.D*[/
quote]

If you want to use a wildcard to delete entire files, suggest you consider adrdssu . . .
