My vote is for the book by Gary DeWard Brown "zOS JCL, 5th Edition":

http://www.amazon.com/zOS-JCL-Gary-DeWa ... 333&sr=1-7

although honestly, your site standards for JCL coding and implementation will usually leave very little room for any type of ad-hoc coding.

For starters, I find Books by Murach publications are quite nice...

Disclaimer: This is my personal thought and has nothing to do with Book-Publishers.

I'm a beginner in mainframe. I'm in need of basic knowledge about mainframe.

Start at http://www.s390.ibm.com and read some of the marketing overviews about z machines and z/OS. "Basic knowledge" about mainframes is not very informative -- search this forum and find some of the other posts about mainframe basics. Since the platform dates back over 40 years now, there is a vast amount of material about mainframes available and you will need to focus quite a bit to get much more than very vague generalizations.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I'm in need of basic knowledge about mainframe.
It is surely not clear what you are asking. . .

Almost anything we post will be too much or too little. . .

You might consider enrolling in an introductory class as a training facility near your location.
