Hi

I need to run 5 jobs with o/p tape file name being with the same name..

Do we have any option to create tape files like that with diff. volume serial ?

Just use DISP=(,KEEP,DELETE), but make sure of the TMS retention rules as you may find four of them get scratched at the next TMS housekeep.

There is a requirement that every data set in the catalog be unique. However, if a sequential data set is not cataloged, there can be any number of copies of it on disk or tape. Keeping track of where they are, however, becomes a challenge since they can only be found by looking at the actual volume. Most sites discourage the use of uncataloged data sets due to problems in locating them.

Hopefully, these tapes are "mail-outs". . . Some organizatons have a pool of scratch tapes that are known as "external volumes" for just this purpose.

Some tape management systems will record the volume usage with the dataset name even if the dsn is not cataloged.

Suggest you speak with your tape management people to learn how this should be done on your system.

Actually we need the Tpae files for few testings.
I did using KEEP option n got its coresponding VOLSER.Its worked
