Specify NEW,KEEP,DELETE and a VOLSER where the other dataset is not.

Make sure you test it. Depending on your system set-up this may no longer work...

Hello,

Many systems will no longer allow this.

If it will not run, do not be surprised. Then talk with your system support or storage management people.

Why does someone believe this is acceptable?
Hope this helps,

A title of JCL for a topic in a forum called JCL is of no benefit to anyone. It has been changed to reflect the nature of the query. This will help people searching the forum by topic name.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
Regards
Nic

rajashreegoud, you have been given the answer by BillyBoyo. Note that whether or not you are allowed to do this will depend upon your site and the restrictions it places on your user id. If you are allowed to create data sets NOT under SMS control, then you can do it -- otherwise, you will not be able to do this. And we cannot tell you whether or not you can do it -- only someone working at your site could possibly tell you that.
