which tool to practice JCL on windows

Hi everyone,

Do anyone know a tool which will help us to practice JCL on windows? If anyone know that tool, please give me the name of that tool so that I can download it and practice JCL on windows !

JCL is used on IBM mainframes running z/OS, not on Windows. You can install Hercules on a Windows machine and then implement MVS on Hercules if you want to use JCL on a Windows machine. However, as far as I am aware there are no software products on a Wndows machine that allow you to directly execute JCL.

I know JCL is run in mainframe but I want to find a tool to practice JCL call a cobol program on windows.

You cannot as JCL is specific to mainframe - the nearest Windoze thing would be a .bat file
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Hello,

As Robert mentioned, you can "build" a mainframe on your PC. Check the Hercules website.

I will say though, setting up Hercules requires one be experienced on the mainframe, rather than a new student.
