Purge failed for CICS task

Hi,


We tried to purge a cics task using CEMT SET TASK(NUMBER) by giving PURGE, FORCEPURGE and KILL too, but all the actions were failed. Could you please advice me to proceed further.

Hello,

Your organization needs to seriously consider hiring (or renting) someone or some company to provide cics support and deal with the current lack of understanding.

There is no way a forum like this one (or any other q & a forum) can provide what is needed for your system. We can try to help, but overall, the system needs someone who is already proficient to configure and support it.

Its not the Lack of understanding, but we followed what exactly it was documented. The ibm manuals are in place we are following it. Now the issue got resolved.

The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Nic,

TMON CICS TERMINATE command and it worked fine.

only if they have tmon installed!

I never praise solutions which rely on add ons products, they are generally useless
solutions related to IBM products should provided only in terms of tools available in a vanilla installation!
and from my experience IT IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE

Yes, it is a lack of understanding. . . Unfortunately.

Having manuals available does not equate to technical understanding. Looking at the myriad of questions/problems encountered on this system shows there is little experience/understanding available to support the environment.

Hopefully, this is a "sandbox" and not a "real" operational environment. . . .

Here in our shop we have TMON installed so we did, but i cannot comment on the product used .

Dick,
This is a sandbox and not a real ops environment. Manual is just a standard way of troubleshoot, but ofcourse interacting with people like you can make us know the real stuff behind this issue. Ofcourse IBM site gave a comprehensive explanation about it.
