FTP connection issue

Postby Thampy » Sat Mar 18, 2017 12:43 am

I am getting a FTP login failure while trying to connect to a Unix server. I am using a mainframe job to connect to the Unix server. The password contain a dollar sign which is causing the issue. I tried connecting the same credentials from dos command prompt and its working fine

Is there any way to handle the dollar sign appearing in password ?

Let's see:
- You don't give us the error message
- You don't give us any error number
- You tell us (without any proof or justification) that the $ in the password is the problem -- since the password is not displayed, how do you know this?
- The IP User's Guide and Commands manual EXPLICITLY states that $ is a valid character for FTP

One possibility is that you THINK the $ in the password is the problem but it isn't. One possibility is that the manual is lying. Which is more likely?
