TSO and CA7 running slow

Postby tyronekyl » Wed Mar 30, 2011 7:12 am

Hi all,

In your opinion, what could possibly cause TSO and CA7 to run slower than normal, outside of resourses?

I seem to get a (clock) when researching jobs in TSO and also when demanding in commands into CA7.

Where would I able to research the possible cause? SMF records? (i.e. i.SMF) in TSO?

RMF, if you have it, can be used to monitor performance. If not, the SMF records would be one place to start. You might also check the WLM policy to see how it treats TSO and CA-7.

The simplest way - look in SDSF I to see how many and what jobs are running. Look in SDSF DA, enter SORT CPU% D, and look at what jobs are using the most CPU. If it is a CICS, then look in the CICS with a monitor (if you have one) and try to find the transaction that is eating CPU or looping or .....

This probably isnt going to help but is still true.... A. just about anything!
As mongan suggests you need more information - or you could just guess!
If the code hasn't been changed, why is the LKED date today?
