Hi, is it possible to change the setting of the END KEY to move to the end of the text rather erasing it.

Mr. Sorrichetti is correct; but don't get your hopes up.

Real 3270 type terminals had no key that behaved like "regular" PC applications usually interpret the PC keyboard End key. Real 3270 type terminals had a key labeled Erase EOF (End Of Field). For better or worse, the End key on PC keyboards is located approximately where the 3270 Erase EOF key is located , so the emulator programs mapped the PC End key to the 3270 Erase EOF key. Is this true? It's been more than 20 years since I used a "real" 3270 type terminal. There were a few of the 3270 plasma terminals floating around my last job, but then they moved and the plasma terminals got left behind. I had thought about stealing one of the keyboards, but it didn't seem possible to connect it to a PC.

Personally, I've been caught on both sides of this: I can't tell you how many times in a regular PC application I hit the End key expecting it to behave like Erase EOF. Of course it doesn't, so a brief curse is in order. Then in the emulator, like mohbaig, I hit the End key and expect it to behave “right.” Of course it doesn't, so I curse a little, and fix up my lost data (assuming I remember what it was!).

mohbaig, you're probably better off trying remember where you are and remember End is Erase EOF, not End.
