Installing at function level 100

Postby yodish » Thu Dec 24, 2020 3:23 am

Hello,

We are installing a new DB2 subsystem, modeling from an existing one. The existing one is at V12R1M100.
I've updated the Install Clist input member (DSNTIDxx) with the existing settings, using the latest output member from the existing system, as a model.

When I run the install Clist, using INSTALL TYPE: "INSTALL", I am unable to get past the 'Activate a Function Level for DB2" panel (DSNTIP00). We want this new subsystem to be at function level 100 (V12R1M100), like the existing one; however, that is considered an 'invalid string' when using the install option. From what i'm reading, an "install" activates at function level 500. If I do specify V12R1M500, the Clist works fine (except for some buffer pool settings); but, obviously we don't want this new subsystem at function level 500 yet.

Am I missing something? This would not be considered an install type "migrate" or "update", correct? It has to be possible to create/install a new subsystem at function level 100?

Thanks for any suggestions!
