Binding a Cobol-DB2 program.

IBM's flagship relational database management system

Binding a Cobol-DB2 program.

Postby syannigeri » Sun May 09, 2010 7:22 pm

Hi All,

I have a Cobol-DB2 program, Which is having some changes to Cobol & DB2 components. I will be binding the Plan and Packages with my changes.
But When i am working on this, Others need to access the OLD plan and Package. As my components are still under testing.

Hence is there any ways, I will BIND my PLAN and Package, Others still will be able to use OLD plan and package?

Is there anything called Binding with different Version's ?

Thanks
Shankar

Hello,

Use different plans or have separate environments.

These would be set up by your database support people not the applicationn developers.
Hope this helps,

Can DB2 Versions help me in Binding the Same Plan and Package with different Versions??
Will that resolve my problem , than changing the Plan name and moving to different environment ??

Heard DB2 Versions .. but not sure it will help me here..

@IBM-DB2.. I feel they need to address this issue ASAP in there next release..Else it tough for Developers to work..
