SQL DA authorisation

Postby jaggz » Tue May 17, 2011 5:54 pm

Hi,

To work on SQL DA what are all the level of access that would be granted from the DBA point of view. This is just required for the practical sessions in a test lpar but i could'nt get a satisfactory reply from the local DBA about SQL da. Could anyone please suggest or guide me to the right direction. Apology in advance if my questions are not clear.

I have no idea what you mean with "To work on SQL DA "
Are you talking about SQL descriptor area ?
That is just a copybook or a bunch of variable definitions, no access needs to be granted in DB2.
(you might need access to the source of the copybook)
I can explain it to you, but i can not understand it for you.

site-dependent
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Hello,

There isn't a "usual" dataset.

Suggest you look at some other program that uses this and see where the copybook "lives" and what it contains. A compile should show what you want.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.
