LLA Refresh

Postby sponmf » Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:10 pm

Hi,

Can some one please explain the exact process of LLA Refresh? How the load module is copied to actual load and what is difference between load library and a ACBLIB library?

Thanks,
SP

Do you know the reasoning behind the LLA? If not, you need to read up on the LLA first. What do you mean by "How the load module is copied to actual load"? From what I can see, an ACBLIB is an IMS construct -- load libraries are generic to IBM systems.

It definitely looks like you are mixing several things up. LLA - Library Look Aside facility - from what I know (but you can check on this by searching for the topic) this loads the lnklist libraries into storage making the access to the libraries faster. If you change or add a module in/to one of the libraries you have to F LLA,REFRESH to pick up the changes. Usually only a system programmer will issue this command.
