Can anyone please tell me how can we distinguish between CICS and IMS load... How does the mainframe finds out finds the difference between a IMS load and CICS

Batch? Online? Why do you need to know - apart from just interest.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

It will probably help if you explain what you mean by CICS load and IMS load. . .

Are you asking about loading data or load modules or ?

CICS loads are used for online while IMS for Batch.. this is what the I know about the these. But how do we differentiate by just looking into these loads...this is my query....

Hello,

You need to look at a linkedit for each. You will see that different support modules are linked into the executable modules.
