Hi all,

Throught the File aid for MVS (FAM) and then 8 (View) i can view the the deatils of the copy book like fieds, field number, starting position, ending position, and lenght.

Is there by any means i can directly FTP all the deatils (field, field number, starting position, ending position, and lenght) it to the excel sheet.

Thanks and regards,

I can't remember much about File Aid, but in File Manager you can create a template dataset that can be saved that gives you the details you require. Not sure about FileAid, perhaps you can have a look to see if there is some sort of Template facility that does the same thing.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hi,

Did you try to "generate" JCL using "PRINT" option of Fileaid? And then FTP the output from that JCL?

Hello,

If you use this jcl
//FILEAIDP EXEC PGM=FILEAID,REGION=6M
//STEPLIB  DD DISP=SHR,DSN=fileaid.loadlib
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSLIST  DD SYSOUT=*
//DD01     DD DISP=SHR,DSN=your.copylib.pds
//SYSIN    DD *
$$DD01 RLPRINT MEMBER=(copybook)
you should get the info you want. . .

If not, please clarify.
