We have a library with over 5000 members. I want to send the list with its version date to a dataset. I know how to copy a member to a sequential dataset but how do send the member list to a dataset?

What I'm trying to do with the list is separate out all members that have been updated since a specific date. Is there a better way to do this in Librarian than FTP a member list and sort?

Please, present any example: what and how you are doing so far?

Is it critical to use Librarian?

Other mainframe tools - are they not suitable?

Is it critical to use Librarian?

The Librarian is a version control system and source code management software product originally developed by Applied Data Research for IBM mainframe computers. It was designed to supplant physical punched card decks as a way of maintaining programs, but kept a card model in terms of its interface. During the 1970s and 1980s it was in use at thousands of IBM mainframe installations and was one of the best-selling software products in the computer industry.
