Scope of this SAS with mainframes combination

Postby sinmani » Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:41 pm

Hi All, SAS is a very important company in business analytic , business intelligence and reporting areas.

Now I recently came across the SAS product which could be used in sync with mainframes.

So what is the scope of this SAS with mainframes combination. I have not seen it being used frequently by companies. Nor is it a hot skill in the market for jobs.

Can someone please enlighten on this??

The base SAS product for statistical analysis originally ran on IBM mainframes and was ported to other platforms. In the US, SAS on various platforms continues to be heavily used for statistical work (by pharmaceutical companies, for example).
