Future of z/Os

Postby nkulkarni » Mon Jul 25, 2016 7:46 pm

Sorry for posting a generic question...

I understand 'z/Os' is a world class operating system that can support thousands of workloads concurrently while delivering service levels to meet the most demanding customer requirements. With leading edge availability, security, and scale, z/OS serves the needs of the largest banks, financial institutions, services organizations and more. (Courtesy - IBM site)

What according to you will be the future of operating system 'z/Os' with respect to IT industry as a whole, as more and more companies are migrating towards newer technologies i.e. cloud (Again I understand, Cloud is influenced by the way Mainframe work) ?

Don't mean to offend any MAINFRAMERs as I'm also one....

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
