GC26-4574-** PDF copies

Postby Aki88 » Fri Nov 14, 2014 7:00 pm

Hello,

Is a .pdf version of GC26-4574-** manual available on the web for download (haven't struck gold with Google thus far) or can someone kindly share it if they have an offline copy; it'd be of great help if one is available.

Thanks.

Do you have a name for the manual? I've never bothered to memorise the publication references myself.

:) Sure Billy, the manual is: Using IBM 3390 Direct Access Storage in an MVS Environment, the one found here (hope I got the link right, it takes you to section B.1.2 of the manual with heading 'Using the 3390 Track Capacity Table(Without Keys)')

If an offline copy is available that would be really really helpful.

Thanks.

Well, it's an old manual, and the greyed-out link for the PDF download shows they have no PDF for it. Used a funny think called paper in those days.

You can download the "softcopy" version and look at the links at the bottom of that page for how to use it.

This is a direct link to the online version of the manual. IMO more useful than the PDF - which doesn't seem to exist anyway.

Hello Steve,

That is the link I've been working with over the time; though having a copy of the book removes the need to be connected to the internet at client locations where internet access is very restricted.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's the problem with accessing the manual over the web. You should think about getting the softcopy reader and retrieving the .BOO versions of the manuals. They're smaller than the PDF versions of the manual, and the softcopy reader is usually more usable than PDF readers.
