Looking for someone in the Chicago area who is interested in converting text files stored on two 7" reels of tape. They were created about 20 years ago on an IBM mainframe. The tapes are in perfect condition.

They contain text files that need to be converted and written to a CD or DVD.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

You might consider having the files copied to dasd and then FTP'd which would handle the conversion. . .

It may help if you specify which format the data is stored on the tape - i suspect 3420. . .

Yes, I have done that in the past, but I don't have access to a mainframe system any more to do the work on. I'm looking for someone who can do it.

Do you know anyone looking for this type of work?
