Since Excel does not run on a mainframe, just where is your macro going to execute and what do you think it will do, especially since mainframe data is almost always EBCDIC and PC data is almost always ASCII? What problem are you attempting to solve? What have you tried so far?

Hello,

If you create a tab-delimited (x'05') file on the mainframe and ftp this to a win-based environment, it will be directly loadable (import) into Excel.

Not sure what/why you mentoin a "macro" but we send dozens of these a day with no problems. . .

It will be better to "pull" the data to the pc rather than trying to "push" from the mainframe.

If you need more info, post a more complete definition of where you are stuck.
