Current Size of RMM Database

Postby ravisankarc » Wed Mar 21, 2012 6:49 pm

Hi Team,

Could any one help me how to know the current size of RMM database? My client has given me the below task :

we need to check whether the RMM database is near to 4 GB in size or not. The 4 GB is the limit for how big a VSAM dataset can be if it is not in EXTENDED FORMAT.

Please help me.

Thanks N Regards
Ravi

Googling rmm database led me -- in less than five minutes total time -- to find the commands to check on RMM database storage. It shouldn't take you more than half an hour or so to find them, no matter how slow you type or read.

I'll give you one. If you cannot find the rest of what you want by reading, then I'm afraid you are out of luck as far as I'm concerned.

The Google search I did rapidly found the command
query db

Hi Robert,

I think I am really unlucky. Because when I executed this command it says "COMMAND QUERY NOT FOUND". Secondly, I have searched with this in Google also and it is taking me to DB2 topic. I want to know about the size of DFSMSrmm database.

I will be thankful if you can help me in getting the command.

Thanks N Regards

For a start, just look at it with 3.4. Then you will have an idea. Also look in your ISMF dialogs.

When I Google rmm database, the very first hit returned has the heading "IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for z/OS: Administrator's Guide". Clicking on this link brings up the Storage Manager for z/OS Server Library Infocenter. Why you cannot find this, I'm not sure. But there is a heading in the listing to the left of the screen with the title "Configuring and Managing Server Storage" which in turn has "Chapter 8. Managing Storage Pools and Volumes". If you cannot find what you need there, I seriously doubt you'll be able to find it anywhere on the Internet.
