Hi All,
I am currently working in a support project, where I need to monitor status of started tasks manually in 3.OPS,4.11.2 every day and it is time consuming process. So, Instead of doing this manually I am planning to automate this using REX. I only know that the status(EX:UP UP A,DOWN DOWN P) of started tasks is stored in SSM table. So I want to konw, What is SSM table? What is name and location of the SSM table? and Is there any way to copy SSM table data into a PS file?. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Looks like something CA. I googled. Try it. CA have a forum as well, get yourself registered, find the documentation.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

In addition to the documentation, you will need to talk with your system support people.

Where files are stored and which dataset names are used is site-specific and only someone on your system will know. We at the forum know nothing about your installation.

your site has the software so your site will have the documentation. The dobumentation os probably licensed and therfore illegal to share. If you have trouble getting it within your company you can request extra copies from the supplier

Did you follow the suggestions? I don't think any people here are using your product, and I don't think CA publish their documentation on the internet. They do have an extensive site, including specialist fora (forums) to provide support and share information and tips.

You have to find who at your site deals with CA, then get yourself an account, get the documentation, and research what you want to do.

Your sysprogs will certainly know an amount about how the started tasks table (which will start out life as a PDS member from one on the libraries used for IPL) relates to the product, but details for accessing data reliably that is managed by a particular product is only going to be within the documentation for that product.

Billyboyo,
I don't know what do you mean by CA. Are you talking about CA7 scheduler?if yes, then I am not using that product. Let me explain you what exactly I wanted. Form ISPF main menu if you type 3.OPS and then option 4.11.2 , you will get a list of started tasks(ex: ims, cics, dsnmstr) and their status. I just want to know where all these informations are stored?.I don't think its any other product than IBM.

there is no option 3.ops on ISPF - until modified by your site so ... Don't you realise that CA is Computer Associates? and Billy suspects that your product is from them - your application admin will know for sure.

There is a product called CA (Computer Associates, as NicC says) OPS (ring any bells?)

I googled for "ssm table ipl" and the first five hits related to CA-OPS.

Talk to your support. Someone there knows what you are running, and then you can take it from there.
