Hello,

Run a listvtoc for the volumes you are interested in monitoring.

If you want to look at a/some volumes only once in a while, you can use tso/ispf 3.4, specify V and the volser you want to monitor. This will be returned:

Unit . . : 3390

Volume Data             VTOC Data              Free Space   Tracks    Cyls
 Tracks . :   50,085     Tracks  . :        70  Size  . . :  11,948     792

Hello,

LISTVTOC is part of the IEHLIST utility. You can submit a job to list the vtoc (Volume Table Of Contents) for the volser(s) you want to see.

This link is to the listvtoc part of the utility manual.
http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/ ... 5507&CASE=

Please clarify what administrator means for this use. To do what you want, you can use tso/ispf or a batch job. The system console is should be used for other uses.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.
