Question about aplhanumeric to numeric cobol move

Postby Atifraza » Sat Apr 04, 2015 12:47 pm

I am taking username, password, hostname and location as parameters to the method.I previously created a PDS named 'USERID.CICS.MAPLIB' in z/OS.Now, the problem I am facing is that the file is not uploaded but however if I am not changing the working directory to 'USERID.CICS.MAPLIB', the file gets uploaded to the location 'USERID.File'.I am seeking to upload the file to a new member in the PDS I created earlier. If anyone has any solution, please help.

Thanks in Advance

when asking a question, good forum manners dictate to start a new topic
and not to tailgate to a completely unrelated topic!

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

I split your question from the thread and moved it to the appropriate forum. Your question has absolutely no relationship to COBOL and should not have been posted there.

Second, you did not post any code or JCL. Without seeing how you are doing your "upload" nor the parameters that you are using, there's not much anybody can say. And you mention changing a "working directory" -- is this on a PC / Linux machine? If so, you are not likely to get an answer on a mainframe forum to a PC / Linux question.

It would be best if you go back to the beginning, explain the environment you are working in (mainframe as well as other platforms), then explain the precise process you want to have happen, and then explain what is actually happening instead.
