zos Http server help

Hi all,

I know an http server is installed on our zos system.
Some third-party applications use it.
Anyway, I was wondering how it works. How is it possible to make a web page available on this server, and how to manage dynamic web pages without installing Websphere Application Server.
How can we make a page that has a button that submits a job on the mainframe? Is that possible with a simple http server? (may be CGI..)
