Hi, in my new project i have to work on MF-COBOL on HP-MPE/iX OS. The cobol modules are having .cbl extension. They have Robelle QEDIT to Browse, Edit the modules but its clunky. We are preparing a business case and for that Can you please let me know which is the simple COBOL program editing tool available in the market which can highlight the syntax errors and gives us the flexibilty of coding programs faster. Please advice.

the problem is not the tool... but the platform
why not google Yourself with something like "COBOL IDE" and check if Your platform is supported ???
for example there are quite a few ECLIPSE based cobol IDE ,
but nobody here is willing to check if it supported for Your environment
a good place to start could be
http://www.cobug.com/cobug/docs/cobolide0047.html
cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
