How does option ADOICHK work in Tivoli Workload Scheduler

Postby crazystorm » Wed Feb 16, 2011 3:02 pm

Hi,

In the Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS (TWS) panel 0.5 - AD/OI CHECKS, it tells to Specify AD/OI consistency checks. Also in the Batch Command Interface tool program EQQYCAIN, we can specify OPTION ADOICHK=(Y/N), the description is :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACTION=OPTIONS,ADOICHK=adoichk,
BL=batchl,
BLPRT=blprt,
CPDEPR=cpdepr,
LTDEPR=ltdepr,
LTP=ltp;
adoichk
Y or N(char(1)). Specify whether or not you want AD/OI consistency
checks to be made every time an application is deleted or modified.
Consistency checks involve looking in the application description data base
for matches for all the operator instructions in the application. Any
operator instructions without match are deleted. Default: N.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But can someone take an example to tell me how this option ADOICHK works? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum,

When you are using the online screen, what does Help show for this?

What does the documentation have to say? If you find something in the documentation that is not clear, post what you found and your doubt. Someone should be able to clarify.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Hi,

I know the function of the OPTION ADOICHK. For example, suppose you create an application (1.4 in TWS panel) with two operations, and one operation instruction (1.5 in TWS panel) for the 1st operation in the application. Now if you try to delete this application, then TWS will check if there is an OI defined for the operation in thie to-be deleted application depending on the option ADOICHK setup.
